PORT EWEN – Ulster County
Legislator Carl Belfiglio announced on Wednesday that he will run for
Esopus town supervisor in the fall instead of seeking a fifth term on
the county level.

Belfiglio, a Republican, said when he first ran for county legislature,
he made a commitment for a self-imposed term limit.

And while he said his participation on the county level led to many enhancements
to the quality of life, he wants to improve the town’s economic
position as a top Hudson River town destination.

The Town of Esopus, I believe one of the top Hudson River destinations
and we could make our home in Esopus the destination in Ulster County.

We have the most riverfront property of any county going from New York
City to Albany. We have three parks on the river and lots of Hudson River
access and I believe in the next few years, the Town of Esopus is going
to be one of the top destinations for people traveling,” he said.
Belfiglio served for two years as an Esopus town councilman before running
for the county legislature.
