DOVER PLAINS – A Town of Amenia man was arrested on Monday on charges of endangering the welfare of a child and sexual abuse.
The arrest of Jake Wheeler, 25, stemmed from a report that he supplied a 16-year-old girl with alcoholic beverages and then had sexual contact with her while she was sleeping in his apartment in Amenia.
Wheeler was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail or $40,000 bond.
An order of protection was issued ordering him to refrain from all contact with the victim.
