WHITE PLAINS – A Greenburgh man was sentenced in Westchester County Court on Tuesday to 12 years in state prison for attacking his former girlfriend.
Juan Sumba Duchi, 32, drove her to an isolated parking lot in White Plains at night on December 22, 2015 and demanded for her to have sex with him. When she refused and asked to be taken home, he became enraged and attacked her, breaking her nose and attempting to rape her. She fought him off and was able to escape the vehicle.  Duchi attacked her again, kicking and punching her as she lay on the ground, breaking her collarbone.
A passerby heard her screams and called 911 and two other people in the area came to her defense and pulled Duchi off her.
Police arrived within minutes and arrested Duchi.
As part of his sentence, Duchi must register as sex offender when released from prison.
