TOWN OF THOMPSON – A Monticello man is under arrest after he allegedly stole a 2004 Jeep from a man’s garage at his home in the Town of Thompson.
Daniel Price, 28, was charged with burglary, grand larceny, and criminal possession of stolen property, all as felonies.  It was also determined that Price was intoxicated at the time of his arrest, police said.  He was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $40,000 cash bail or $50,000 bond.
The homeowner reported the theft when he was driving home on Old Ryan Road on May 20 and saw what appeared to be his Jeep heading in the opposite direction. When he got home, he found that vehicle was missing from his garage.  A short time later, state troopers patrolling Cold Spring Road outside Monticello saw the vehicle heading towards Forestburgh and stopped it, placing Price under arrest.
