TOWN OF SOUTHEAST – A
two-car head-on crash on Route 22 in the Town of Southeast Tuesday afternoon
claimed the life of one driver and sent two people in the other vehicle
to the hospital for treatment of injuries.
The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office reported the accident occurred
around 1:15 p.m. when a northbound vehicle and a southbound vehicle collided
just north of the Milltown Road intersection. The driver of the northbound
car was killed.
The female driver of the second car and a male passenger were transported
by ambulances to Danbury Hospital.
The names of the victims were not immediately released.
The accident remains under investigation.
