MONTICELLO – Sullivan County District Attorney James Farrell supports U.S. Attorney General Jeffrey Sessions’ policy that he will always bring the highest level of criminal charge that he believes can be proven in court.
Farrell said he supports Sessions’ policy 100 percent.
“I think a prosecutor’s job is to evaluate the evidence, to evaluate what proof we have, apply the law, and to seek the highest charge that is legally permissible.  We don’t overcharge people but we charge those that are appropriate and that those are just based upon the facts and the law.”
Farrell added that prevention is part of his strategy, and that includes outreach to schools in Sullivan County.
