State Police Troop F BCI awarded Superintendent’s Unit Citation Award

TOWN OF WALLKILL – State Police Troop F, with headquarters in the Town of Wallkill, has won the Superintendent’s Unit Citation Award.
Troop F covers the counties of Rockland, Orange, Sullivan, Ulster and Greene on the west side of the Hudson River.
During 2016, the BCI investigated over 6,500 cases, closing more than 1,500 by arrest. During the first two months of the year, the BCI conducted four homicide investigations across each of the three zones. Each case was a collaboration with each being closed by arrest.  Troop F BCI went on to investigate eight more homicides, including a quadruple murder and a police officer involved shooting.
Investigators from throughout the troop were also involved in two large scale drug sweeps resulting in the arrests of over 50 suspects on federal narcotics trafficking charges.
The BCI members also investigated a massive industrial accident on the Tappan Zee Bridge and a bomb threat at the US Military Academy at West Point.
