GREENWOOD LAKE – Hundreds of “beautiful people” converged on Greenwood Lake Friday night for the red carpet opening of the 12th annual Hoboken International Film Festival.
Actor and Orange County resident Armand Assante was presented the festival’s Lifetime Achievement Award.
“It is a really incredible event for this community to do this event,” Assante said. “It’s so beautiful here tonight. It’s beautiful to know we are one hour north of Manhattan in this setting.”
Festival founder and director Kenneth Del Vecchio was thrilled with the enthusiasm on opening night of the week-long event.
“We have filmmakers literally descending from all around the world here,” Del Vecchio said. “We have 25 different countries being represented here tonight.”.
This is the fifth year the festival is being held in Orange County.  The first four were held at the Paramount Theater in Middletown. Del Vecchio has a three-year agreement with the Village of Greenwood Lake to host the festival.
