New jobs up in April

ALBANY – The number of new jobs continued their upward spiral in the 12 months ending in April, according to the state labor department.
New jobs in Greene County rose by 6.3 percent, the second highest increase in the state. Only Seneca County had more with a 17.6 percent increase.
Sullivan County posted a 3.1 percent increase in jobs while Columbia County’s jobs grew by 3.0 percent.
The Dutchess-Putnam Metropolitan Division posted a 1.2 percent increase in jobs while Ulster County posted an increase of 0.9 percent and the Orange-Rockland-Westchester Metro-Area posted 0.8 percent increase.
