TOWN OF LIVINGSTON – A Hudson man has been charged with felony arson for allegedly setting fire to a vacant barn that consumed the building.
Matthew Sackett, 19, was arrested on Thursday in connection with the fire that destroyed the structure on Route 9 in the Town of Livingston early in the morning back on April 20.  He was sent to the Columbia County Jail without bail pending a future court appearance.
State Police, the Columbia County Fire Coordinator’s Office and the Livingston Fire Department investigated the suspicious blaze. A request for public assistance generated several leads that ultimately led to Sackett’s arrest.
