TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – State Police arrested a Wappingers Falls man on a felony grand larceny charge after it was alleged that he stole over $1,100 worth of merchandise from the Home Depot store on North Road in the Town of Poughkeepsie on Monday.
On May 15, plain clothed State Police investigators were in the parking lot of the store when they saw Ryan McNamee, 40, running from the store while pushing a shopping cart loaded with three chain saws and a leaf blower. He grabbed the chain saw and threw it in a waiting vehicle and told the driver to take off.
Troopers stopped the vehicle on Route 9 in Hyde Park and arrested McNamee. Two occupants in the car were not charged and released.
McNamee was sent to the Dutchess County Jail without bail.
