Kingston teen charged with brandishing gun in New Paltz restaurant

NEW PALTZ – A Kingston resident was arrested by New Paltz Police last weekend after he allegedly pulled a gun while inside a local restaurant.
At about 3:05 a.m. on May 13, a New Paltz officer on Main Street foot patrol was flagged down by two people who reported the incident.
Officers responded to the establishment and located Mikim Phillips, 17, who matched the description given by the witnesses. Police found him in possession of a loaded .38 caliber revolver.  He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon as a felony and sent to the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail pending a future court appearance.
