WASHINGTON – As North Korea launched its latest missile this past weekend, Congressman John Faso (R, NY-19) said the Trump Administration is following the right course in dealing with that foe.
Faso said the administration is following the right
tact – of concerted diplomatic and economic, to a lesser extent,
military pressure on North Korea.
“Successive administrations over 25 years have attempted to engage China unsuccessfully, but for the first time the Chinese appear to be focused on containing the nuclear ambitions of North Korea, so I think the administration is pursuing a correct strategy,” Faso said. “But, its overwhelming emphasis is diplomatic and economic sanctions.”
North Korea said its latest ballistic rocket can carry a heavy nuclear warhead.
