UNION VALE – Three Dutchess
County residents have been arrested by State Police at Poughkeepsie following
a burglary in the Town of Union Vale.

On May 2, someone broke into a homeowner’s barn and stole laundry
detergent and motor vehicle supplies. Surveillance footage showed the
three suspects who allegedly committed the crime.

Later that day, the homeowner called troopers to report the suspect’s
pickup truck had returned to his property and the same perpetrators were
in the process of stealing additional auto supplies from the barn. They
fled when they realized they were being watched.

On May 6, police were notified that a Town of LaGrange resident had a
weed wacker stolen when the new device was delivered to his home. Investigation
revealed the same vehicle with two of the suspects was seen there.

Arrested were Robert Mason, 42, of Hyde Park, who was charged with two
counts of burglary, grand larceny and petit larceny. Michael Westpfal,
53, of Pleasant Valley was charged with burglary. Jennifer Voltz, 24,
was charged with two counts of burglary, petit larceny, two counts of
criminal possession of a controlled substance and possession of a hypodermic
instrument.

Mason and Voltz were committed to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of
bail while Westpfal was remanded without bail.
