Rock Hill man sentenced to prison for heroin sales

MONTICELLO – A Rock Hill man was sentenced in Sullivan County Court
on Thursday to five years in state prison and two years of post-release
supervision for the sale of heroin to an undercover police officer in
March 2016.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with Homeland
Security conducted an investigation into Bjorn Egenes, 28, and determined
he was distributing heroin from his Rock Hill residence.  A search
warrant was executed resulting in the seizure of marijuana, cocaine, heroin,
packaging material, two digital scales and cash.
As part of his plea in court, Egenes forfeited over $9,700 in cash. He pled guilty to criminal sale of a controlled substance admitting that he sold heroin to an undercover cop.
In an unrelated matter, Egenes entered a guilty plea to leaving the scene of an accident involved a death for an accident that occurred on March 14, 2015 in Rock Hill that claimed the life of 57-year-old Susan McCormick. He was sentenced to 1-1/3 to four years in prison in connection with that guilty plea with both sentences to run concurrently.
