HAMPTONBURGH – A 29-year-old Nyack man was arrested by Orange County
Sheriff’s deputies on Orange County Route 51 near Sarah Wells Trail
on Saturday after he was stopped for making an illegal U-turn.
During the traffic stop, deputies learned that Bartholomew Atkinson had
a suspended driver’s license. Officers also recovered 3.2 grams
of cocaine, several LSD strips, 43 grams of concentrated marijuana gummies
and a small quantity of marijuana.
Atkinson was charged with two felony counts of criminal possession of
a controlled substance as well as misdemeanor and violation charges including
traffic citations.
He was remanded to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,000 cash bail
or $2,000 bond.
