POUGHKEEPSIE – The Walkway Over the Hudson is almost eight years old. It opened as the longest linear park in the nation in late 2009.
Executive Director, Elizabeth Waldstein-Hart, said its popularity continues to build.
“It is amazing that we are so proud of the progress that everybody has made of the benefits that have come to the Mid-Hudson Valley,” Waldstein-Hart said. “We still have over half-a-million people using the Walkway Over the Hudson every year.”
The park keeps adding amenities including visitor centers and the two-year-old glass elevator that rises from the Poughkeepsie side of the bridge to the deck, which provides a breathtaking view of the landscape as you ascend and descend.
