Orange County promotes Complete Streets

GOSHEN – Orange County is looking to promote the Complete Streets concept to its municipalities.
County Legislator Barry Cheney is chairman of the Green Committee and
he said the concept is to focus on alternate modes of travel.
“It is pretty much a plan that the county is looking for local municipalities to adopt as well as for the county to take into account when it does designs on streets,” Cheney said. “Complete Streets focuses on the non-motorized aspects of people going from one place to another.”
That would include making roads and streets more pedestrian and biking friendly.
