Putnam County’s Family Fishing Day a huge hit

CARMEL – Moms, dads and kids of all ages took the bait and had a unique
of bonding experience on Saturday as they converged on Lake Gleneida at
the Putnam County seat in Carmel on Saturday.

It was the Fifth Annual Family Fishing Day.

The event is co-sponsored by the New York City Department of Environmental
Protection and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation.

The agencies supplied rods, reels and bait for the anglers.

Lake Gleneida is home to a wide variety of fish including bass, perch,
bullheads, sunfish and trout.

An estimated 125 families participated in the family fishing day.
