ALBANY – Employment in the Hudson Valley increased by one percent in the 12 months ending in March.
The state labor department reported on Thursday that jobs rose by 7,700 to 775,900 year over year.
The greatest increase percentage-wise was in Greene County, with 6.0 percent growth.
Sullivan County saw jobs grow by 3.2 percent while in Columbia County, they increased by 3.1 percent.
The Orange-Rockland-Westchester Metro Area saw 1.1 percent growth in jobs while the Dutchess-Putnam Metropolitan Division saw no change.
Region-wide, jobs were added in educational and health services; professional and business services; trade, transportation and utilities; other services; and financial activities.
Job losses were mostly centered in leisure and hospitality; manufacturing; and natural resources, mining and construction.
