STONY POINT – A more than $95,000 grant in federal funds has been approved for the Stony Point Ambulance Corps. The funding was allocated through the Department of Homeland Security’s Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program.
The ambulance corps will use the money to buy new Stryker Power-Load cot loaders and fasteners to secure patients during emergency rescues in the course of treatment and transportation.
The funding will be used for stretcher loaders, which will make it much easier for us to get patients into our ambulances,” said Alan Horowitz, the ambulance corps’ director of special projects.
The grant was announced by Senators Charles Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand and House Member Nita Lowey.
