Construction worker killed by bulldozer

RED HOOK – A 44-year-old Elizaville woman was killed Thursday afternoon when she was struck by a bulldozer at a work site on Albany Post Road in Red Hook.
State Police withheld the victim’s name pending notification of relatives.
Investigation indicted the woman was struck by an 18-ton field tread bulldozer at about 1:13 p.m. She had been working for Jeff Decker & Son Inc. tasked with leveling a field. The equipment operator was moving the machine to make a minor adjustment to the blade and noticed his partner had been struck by the bulldozer. He called 911 and requested EMS and police response to the scene.
The victim was transported to Northern Dutchess Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
State Police were assisted by Village of Red Hook Police and the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office. The Red Hook Fire Department and Northern Dutchess Paramedics were also at the scene.
The investigation is continuing.  OSHA has been notified.
