POUGHKEEPSIE – An Albany man was committed to the Dutchess County
Jail on Thursday on a charge of felony grand larceny.
State Police at BCI in Wappinger arrested John Manning, 82, for allegedly
embezzling more than $18,000 from a local veteran’s group between
January 2014 and July 2016.
Manning was the treasurer of the organization at the time. The incident
was reported to State Police in September of last year.
Manning was arraigned in Poughkeepsie Town Court and remanded on $20,000
cash bail or $40,000 bond.
