Three arrested in Columbia County on drug-related charges

GREENPORT – Three people were arrested on a felony drug charge in the Town of Greenport after a car was stopped on Fairview Avenue with no front license plate and dark tinted windows.
The Columbia County deputy discovered 21 bundles consisting of 203 individual doses of heroin. A bundle consists of 10 bags of heroin. The street value of the 203 doses is about $2,000, police said.
Peter Medina, also known as “Smooth,” 25, of Brooklyn, was charged with felony possession of drugs with intent to sell. He was sent to the Columbia County Jail without bail. Other charges are possible, police said.
Katie Murray, 30, of Greenport, was charged with a misdemeanor for possessing a hypodermic instrument. She was released on an appearance ticket.
The driver, David Meadows, 30, of Greenport, was charged with misdemeanor drug possession for having a small amount of cocaine. He was also charged with failure to display a front license plate and side windows not transparent, both infractions. He was issued an appearance ticket returnable to town court.
