Port Jervis brush fire rages

PORT JERVIS – A fast moving brush fire burned a large area of land on Point Peter/Brox Park in Port Jervis Tuesday afternoon.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, although it may have been set by juveniles in the area, authorities said.
The fire off Skyline Drive brought out firefighters from Port Jervis, Sparrowbush, Huguenot, Greenville, and Matamoras and Westfall, Pennsylvania.
Smaller brush fires were also reported in other areas of the Mid-Hudson as temperatures rose into the 80s.
