Woman charged with stealing gun from Monticello residence

MONTICELLO – A 32-year-old Monticello woman is in the Sullivan
County Jail without bail after she allegedly stole a gun from a licensed
owner.

Racheal Barrales was charged with the felonies of criminal possession
of a weapon and grand larceny when she was arrested on Wednesday, March
29.

On Tuesday, Barrales allegedly stole the loaded .32 caliber handgun from
the owner’s residence. He reported the theft to the police.

Officers received information on Wednesday evening just before 8 p.m.
that she was in possession of the gun while walking on Park Avenue.

She was located and taken into custody and the stolen gun was recovery.
