Two killed in early morning Sprain Brook crash

GREENBURGH – Two men in a car were killed early Thursday when the driver lost control on the Sprain Brook Parkway in the Town of Greenburgh and struck a guide rail and tree.
The driver, James Campion, 26, of White Plains, was pronounced dead at the scene., Pedro Mattos, 21, of Mount Vernon, was pronounced dead at Westchester Medical Center.
State Police said preliminary investigation determined their car was southbound at a high rate of speed at around 12:18 a.m. when Campion attempted to navigate around an uninvolved vehicle and lost control.
Greenburgh emergency medical services responded to the scene. State Police were assisted by Greenburgh Police, and city police from White Plains and Mount Vernon.
