ALBANY – The Town of New Paltz has been awarded a $75,000 state grant to make improvements to the town pool.
The pool is open from Memorial Day to Labor Day and serves over 35,000 people annually. In addition to its recreational opportunities, it provides 44 seasonal jobs, mostly for teens and young adults.
The grant, secured by Senator John Bonacic, will be used to repair the pool’s liner.
The grant “will help ensure that our residents will be able to enjoy our town pool for years to come,” said Town Supervisor Neil Bettez.
