LAGRANGE – State Police arrested two young suspects on charges of grand larceny and falsifying business records, both as felonies, in connection with the theft of money from a LaGrange business. The total allegedly stolen amounted to over $14,000.
The manager of that business told police an employee had stolen approximately $200 from the store’s cash register. Through surveillance footage, an employee was seen entering sales in the register and later canceling the sale enabling both teens to share the proceeds.
Investigation revealed that Suheer Mazhar and Joseph Strang, both 17 and both of Poughkeepsie, had been canceling sales so they could steal money from the business since October 2016.
Both were issued appearance tickets returnable to town court.
