Hamptonburgh man charged with illegally possessing guns, operating marijuana grow house

HAMPTONBURGH – A man, who was allegedly driving around shining
a laser light at other vehicles in the Town of Hamptonburgh, was later
arrested on charges that he illegally possession three handguns without
a permit and that he was conducting a marijuana growing operation in his
home with a large amount of already processed marijuana.
State Police BCI in Montgomery charged Herbert Ackerson, 63, with three counts of criminal possession of a weapon, unlawfully growing cannabis and criminal possession of marijuana.  He is in the Orange County Jail in lieu of $1,500 cash bail or $3,000 bond.
