TOWN OF NEWBURGH – Police arrested a Plattekill man on charges that he robbed two banks in the Town of Newburgh this year.
Steven Klein, 19, of Forest Park in Plattekill was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with the January 10 robbery at the Wells Fargo Bank branch on North Plank Road and the March 1 robbery of the M&T Bank branch on Route 9W. He was charged with two counts of robbery as a result of his arrest.
The Town of Newburgh SWAT team, with the assistance of the State Police and Plattekill Police Department, conducted a warrant search as Klein’s residence early Wednesday morning leading to his arrest.
