Home health aide arrested for charging on client’s debit card

TOWN OF POUGHKEEPSIE – A Poughkeepsie woman has been arrested by Poughkeepsie Town Police on felony charges of grand larceny and criminal possession of stolen property.
The investigation began when a town resident filed a complaint on February 3 reporting unauthorized charges on her debit card at area businesses and items were missing from her home.
An investigation identified the person responsible for the thefts as a home health care aide, Cheryl Thomas, 56, who was working in the victim’s home for several months.  Thomas was arraigned and released under the supervision of the Dutchess County Probation Department.
