WHITE PLAINS – An information technology employee of a foreign bank in Newark, New Jersey, was arrested on a felony complaint of promoting and possessing an obscene sexual performance by a child, both as felonies.
Amupam Biswas, 45, of Briar Cliff Manor, was arraigned in Westchester County Court on Wednesday.
Authorities had executed a search warrant at his home on February 14 and seized two external hard drives. Examination revealed thousands of images of under age children engaged in sexual performances and obscene acts.
Bail was set at $20,000 bond or $10,000 cash.
If convicted, Biswas could face up to seven years in prison.
