GOSHEN – State Police arrested a Goshen couple, charging them with endangering the welfare of a vulnerable adult and grand larceny after a 59-year-old mentally disabled man was found living in a barn.
John and Mary Quick of Silent Farms in Goshen were charged after members
of the Orange County Social Services Department had removed the man from
the stable-hand quarters of the barn where he had been living for the
past several years.
Investigators determined the couple had assumed control of the man’s bank account and removed funds without his authorization.
John Quick was sent to the Orange County Jail in lieu of $500 bail or $1,000 bond. Mary Quick was released on her own recognizance.
