NEW YORK – Metro-North officials say they are having a good year,
so far. That assessment came during the February Metro-North and Long Island
Committees meeting this morning.

Metro-North President Joseph Giulietti said the fleet was “well prepped
to reduce the impact” of the February 9th storm that dumped 16 to
20 inches over wide parts of their territory.

Positive Train Control remains under review, said Giulietti, who called
it an “unfunded but necessary mandate.”

Giulietti also noted that customer complaints dropped significantly in January,
compared to a year ago.
