Two charged with armed robberies of four Middletown businesses

MIDDLETOWN – Two Middletown men are in the Orange County Jail after
being arrested and charged with committing four armed robberies in the
city.

Middletown Police Detectives Fred Slanovec and Paul Weissinger cracked
the case following three gunpoint robberies – at Sam’s Mart
at 90 Academy Avenue, in the city, the Valero gas station and the Domino’s
Pizza shop, both Carpenter Avenue in the Town of Wallkill, all within
minutes of each other on Thursday, February 16.

Following investigation, Tajh Ali-Williams, 17, of Jordan Lane and Kedney
Celestin, 19, of Vincent Drive, both in Middletown, were arrested on Vincent
Drive. They are believed to have committed all three robberies on the
16th.

The pair is accused by Middletown Police of committing four gunpoint hold-ups
– on November 6, 2016 at the Citgo gas station on Dolson Avenue;
February 10, 2017 at the Valero gas station on East Main Street; and the
Sam’s Mart store on February 16, 2017.

Wallkill Police are expected to lodge charges against Ali-Williams and
Celestin for the robberies in the town.
