PORT JERVIS – A three-alarm fire gutted a commercial building in Port Jervis and caused some minor damage to an adjacent apartment complex.
Fire at L&S Auto Sales at 191 East Main Street brought out mutual aid from neighboring fire departments.
The interior of the building was gutted. Because of the intense heat that was melting the siding from a nearby senior complex, that facility was evacuated.
Black smoke could be seen billowing in the skies over the city.
