TOWN OF THOMPSON – Armed with a search warrant, Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies Wednesday morning raided a residence at 103 Wildcat Road in the Town of Thompson and broke up a marijuana grow operation.
Some 123 plants were seized including some that had been harvested and were being dried. Over six pounds of marijuana were recovered as well as Percocet pills and $6,500 in cash.
Arrested at that location was Steven Adams, 55, the owner of the house.
He was charged with felony criminal possession of marijuana, unlawfully
growing cannabis and criminal possession of a controlled substance, both
as misdemeanors. He was sent to the Sullivan County Jail in lieu of $10,000
bail.
Sheriff Michael Schiff credited his Gang Intelligence and Narcotics Unit with investigating the case with the assistance of US Homeland Security Investigations officers. The search warrant was prepared by the Sullivan County District Attorney’s Office.
