TOWN OF THOMPSON – The public had the opportunity on Wednesday to learn the details of the Monticello-Thompson Gateway Corridor Strategic Plan.
The Gateway is meant to be an aesthetically pleasing entrance to one of the premier new attractions in Sullivan County, said county Planning Commissioner Freda Eisenberg.
“It’s the gateway to the Montreign-Adelaar project and also Veria Lifestyle, but it is also [Rt. 17] exit 104 is the gateway to the entire western part of the county and Bethel Woods, which is an established major attraction here, so it is really larger just than the casino project,” Eisenberg said.
The Gateway plan is viewed as a blueprint for future development in the corridor, which is expected to be a major thoroughfare for visitors to Sullivan County.
