HAWTHORNE – Metro-North
service on the Harlem Line was disrupted Monday afternoon into the evening
after a tree fell across tracks during high winds at noon. A southbound
six-car train struck the tree and as a result, the first set of wheels
of the first car came off the track.

There were no injuries.

Crews worked to re-rail that set of wheels and inspect and repair a stretch
of about 100 feet of track that were damaged in the incident.

Metro-North anticipated operating a regular Harlem Line schedule on Tuesday.
