One dead, three wounded at Newburgh Valentine’s Day party

NEWBURGH – Four people were shot early Sunday morning in Newburgh
with one killed and the others wounded. The 3 a.m. incident occurred at
a Valentine’s Day party in a rented basement at 253 South William
Street in the city.
The building also houses a church on the top floor; that was not connected with the incident.
The murder victim was identified by police as Gevontay Owens-Grant, 24, of the City of Newburgh.
Newburgh Police and the Orange County District Attorney’s Office are investigating the incident.  Anyone with information is asked to call the police at 845-561-3131.
