KINGSTON – Those parking meter kiosks planned for Kingston city parking lots have not yet been ordered and that is because the common council has yet to approve the $125,000 bond to pay for them.
In the meantime, Mayor Steven Noble is creating a parking study committee.
“We are going to be looking at parking issues in the city and be able to come up with some comprehensive solutions for some of those issues,” Noble said. “The common council is still debating the kiosk purchase and I think that is going to continue over the next month or so.”
The city is hoping to use the money raised from collections from those kiosks to help balance the budget.
