WEST HURLEY – A 40-year-old Town of Hurley man was killed on Monday
afternoon while he was operating a wood processing machine that cuts and
splits firewood.
Ulster County Sheriff’s investigators said a preliminary investigation
into the death of Lewis Peck indicates he became entangled in the machine,
which resulted in a fatal injury.
Deputies were called to the scene on Stone Road in the Town of Hurley
around 3:30 p.m.
Detectives were assisted at the scene by the West Hurley Fire Department
and Mobile Life Support Services.
