POUGHKEEPSIE – A 22-year-old
Poughkeepsie man was shot in the thigh on Tuesday, just three days after
another man was shot outside a club where he was celebrating his birthday.
Police do not believe the two incidents are related.

Minutes before noon on Tuesday, Poughkeepsie City Police were called to
a report of a man shot in an apartment at the Hudson Gardens Housing project
off Smith Street.
Officers found the man shot once in his upper thigh. He was transported
to a local hospital for treatment of a non-life threatening wound.

It is unknown exactly where in the housing project the man was shot as
he told police he did not know where he was when struck, nor did he know
who shot him.

The victim told officers he heard a bang and went down.

Evidence at the scene leads investigators to believe the man was shot
inside the apartment where he was found.

No other witnesses were located who saw anything.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Poughkeepsie
City Police at 845-451-7577.
