MONTICELLO – Two South Fallsburg residents were each sentenced in Sullivan County Court to eight years in state prison and five years of post-release supervision in connection with an armed robbery in South Fallsburg.
Manuel Castillo and Evelyn Sanchez, both 22, pled guilty to felony armed burglary prior to trial admitting that they entered an apartment, threatened the use of a baseball bat and knife, and stole a wallet from the resident of the apartment.
Supreme Court Justice Stephan Schick sentenced the pair.
“While home burglary is down in Sullivan County over the course of the last five years, law enforcement and my office remain committed to holding those who engage in these crimes accountable and responsible with state prison sentences,” said District Attorney James Farrell. “These defendants will now be appropriately punished, with time behind bars, for the burglary of this occupied home.”
