Ty: “… communities are
very strapped …”

HUDSON – Many of the area cities are faced with aged water and sewer infrastructure and state Environmental Facilities Corporation President Sabrina Ty said her agency continues to provide grants and low-interest loans for upgrades.
Ty was at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson on Friday to outline
Governor Cuomo’s proposed fiscal year 2017 budget and she said the
EFC’s mission is ongoing.
“The cost of infrastructure is very, very high and a lot of communities are very strapped, but what we are able t do with low-cost financing and the combination and the combination of that with grants really can save taxpayers a lot of money and improve our water quality,” Ty said.
Most recently, Ty said the EFC provided funding for the City of Newburgh’s efforts to remediate its contaminated water source.
