PORT JERVIS – The Accelerator program, under the aegis of the Orange County Industrial Development Agency, is doing well at its New Windsor facilities, offering space and facilities for young companies looking to grow.
There is now an early look into the possibility of set up a similar facility in the City of Port Jervis on the western portion of the county, said Laurie Villasuso, the chief operating officer of the agency.
“It is definitely an exploratory mission at this point,” Villasuso said. “We think we have a good idea. We just have t o make sure it is viable, and we are going to research that and put our efforts into making sure it is something that, if and when it is launched, it will be a success just as the accelerator in New Windsor has been.”
The New Windsor center is in two buildings because of the large amount of interest.
Accelerator officials are also considering setting up shop in other Mid-Hudson counties.
