STANFORD – A Pleasant Valley man was arrested Thursday after he was stopped while driving on Route 82 in the area of Salt Point Turnpike in Stanford.
Bryan Roe, 26, was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance and tampering with physical evidence, both as felonies.
Police said a northbound pickup was directed to stop for police as they removed a fallen tree from the road. The vehicle failed to stop and struck the obstruction.
Troopers located the truck on Sisters Hill Road and conducted a traffic stop but not before they observed Roe throw a plastic bag from the driver’s side window. The bag turned out to contain cocaine.
Roe was sent to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $10,000 cash bail or $20,000 bond.
