WASHINGTON – The House of Representatives on Thursday voted to reject the anti-Israel UN resolution and Congressman John Faso (R, NY19) voted to support the congressional action, which passed 342 to 80.
“The administration made a grave mistake when they chose to abstain,
and thus effectively support, the United Nations’ anti-Israel resolution,”
Faso said. “The UN action made prospects for peace more difficult
to achieve in the region. The United States policy in the past has been
to veto any one-sided, anti-Israel efforts before the United Nations,
and it is unfortunate that the current administration chose to ignore
this long-standing policy.”
The freshman lawmaker said he and his House colleagues voted “to stand with our ally and friend Israel and affirm a commitment which should never be in doubt.”
