SAUGERTIES – A Town of Saugerties man is in the Ulster County Jail in lieu of $20,000 cash bail after being charged with criminal contempt of a court order.
Saugerties Police said Kenneth Terpening, 31, is alleged to have threatened a woman, who had an order protection against him issued last September in Esopus Town Court.  Terpening allegedly threatened to smash the victim’s head, punch her teeth down her throat and then throw her out a window.
At the time he allegedly made the treats, he was in violation of the decree ordering him not to harass, threaten, follow, assault, stalk, abuse or interfere in any way with the victim.
